This is a Flash animation combined with images taken of myself. I took the two images of myself in different running poses, but the poses were too similar so it doesn't work that well. When I come to the final video I'll use more frames and change the pose. I created the background in photoshop based on Mario games.
This is what I created in Photoshop as an improved backdrop for the platform scene. This is going to be almost identical to the finished one.
Below is a test for the first-person shooter segment of my advert. I decided to put a forest backdrop because my original idea would be set in a shooting range in a forest. This low-res image is just from Google. The gun is a water pistol and I replaced the background using Adobe Aftereffects without green screen for the finished advert. For the finished advert I would hopefully use a green screen. I am still deciding if I should use an animated gun or practical effects.
Above and below are an animated gun I created in photoshop. I started out creating a 2D image then converted the layer to 3D. To make the image move I had four duplicated layers of the gun all in slightly different positions, then I looped it and sped it up in iMovie because Premiere Pro was not available at that time.
The image below was created the same way as the above image. I superimposed my hand on top of the gun to experiment if to if this would work - merging artificial images with real-life images. It didn't quite match up because I couldn't get the hand positions right to look believable.
